Celebrating International Women’s Day 2023: Trailblazers in the UK Making a Difference
On Wednesday 8th March 2023, the world will celebrate International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women and raising awareness about gender equality. In the UK, there are many women who are making waves in their industry and are trailblazing in their own unique way.
One such group of women are the co-founders of New Ethos Nottingham 2 CIC (NEN), Shai Sekhmet and Lesley Whitely,
alongside Lesley's husband, Lloyd Whitely has created an organisation that provides safe and supportive housing for male ex-offenders. Their dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on the community, and we salute them for their trailblazing efforts.
But they are not the only women making a difference. Merlita Bryan MP and Nadia Whittome MP are trailblazing in politics, working tirelessly to promote equality and justice.
and Zoe Colosimo, of Neighbourly, are making a difference in the charity sector.
Professor Stacy Johnson MBE of Nottingham University is paving the way in education,
and Jackie P, a fundraiser, and Kemet FM host is using her platform to create positive change.
And let's not forget about Rastarella Falade, who is making a difference in the music industry with her non-profit music productions.
These women are just a few examples of the many trailblazers in the UK who are making a significant impact in their field.
On International Women's Day 2023, we celebrate these women and their achievements. We recognize their hard work, dedication, and leadership in their respective industries, and we salute them for paving the way for future generations of women.
As we continue to strive toward gender equality, it’s important to remember the trailblazers who have come before us and those who are making a difference today. Let's continue to celebrate and support women who are making a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
Happy International Women's Day 2023!
